The Girl’s Guide To Packing For Ireland

I was asked multiple times what I was bringing with me on my adventure to Ireland. From what t-shirts, if I was going to bring a dress, what types of shoes, yada yada yada. After spending some time researching what to pack online, I finally shoved my clothes in my suitcase and shipped off. For any travelers looking for some inspiration as to what to bring, here’s a list of what I packed!

Keep in mind, this is what I packed for living in Ireland. I had been told multiple times about how often it rains and how it’s a little cooler over there. When I arrived, I quickly learned that reigned true. So if you’re going somewhere a little warmer and drier, you’ll probably have a different looking wardrobe than mine.

I had one big suitcase, one carry on suitcase, and a backpack.

If anyone is planning on leaving soon and wants some sort of guideline for packing, here’s a list of what I brought with me.

  • 2 bath towels
  • 2 hand towels
  • 1 pair of black jeans
  • 3 pairs of skinny jeans
  • 1 pair of flare jeans (have to keep my hippie vibes alive)
  • 4 pairs of leggings
  • 5 sweaters
  • 5 “nice” shirts
  • 2 flannels
  • 2 dresses
  • 2 skirts
  • 7 t-shirts
  • 4 pairs of athletic shorts (being optimistic about exercising but they were mainly used for sleeping)
  • A bunch of socks, some wool some cotton
  • Underwear, ’cause duh
  • 1 pair of Converse
  • 1 pair of Vans
  • 1 pair of boots
  • 1 pair of heels
  • My slippers (I like to be comfy)
  • My shower shoes (keeping things sanitary)
  • 2 sweatshirts (picking only two was a painful process)
  • 1 rain jacket
  • My favorite blanket

And here is some other non-clothes stuff I’ve brought along with me…

  • Toothbrush to keep my pearly whites clean
  • My laptop (so I can write for all you lovely readers!)
  • 4 plug adapters (Amazon for some reason sent me 4)
  • 3 iPhone USB cords (in case one breaks, and then another one breaks…)
  • My Nikon D330 camera & charger
  • My GoPro & charger cord

One tip I have is to buy most of your toiletries when you get to your destination. Unless you have some special skincare routine or a shampoo you wouldn’t dare part with, you will be able to find things to keep you clean across the sea.

While you may think this isn’t a lot for a few months, I wanted to keep some space free for souvenirs. Shopping was a very popular activity during my time abroad so I picked up a few things here and there that made it’s way back home with me.

Hopefully this list gave you some inspiration about what you’ll be bringing with you abroad! Let me know in the comments if you think there’s something I missed or something you would recommend to another traveler!
